Tamil Nadu Calendar Runs Out of Room as Summer Stamps Every Square HOT
A state weather calendar has been marked HOT from Monday through Sunday, forcing cooler weather into the margins.
By noon, the first cloud had reached the Tamil Nadu Seasonal Allocation Office with a request for a competing condition, but the clerk could find no empty line on the planner for it.
The office then issued a rule that no day already claimed by summer could accept a competing condition. Clouds were moved to a waiting list, rain was sent back for missing paperwork, and “slightly less hot” was rejected as an incomplete description.
The calendar runs out of room
By midweek, clerks were using the backs of old almanacs to record temperatures that had nowhere official to go. A column marked “pleasant surprise” was removed after three consecutive blank entries, while the state’s umbrellas were reassigned from rain duty to ceremonial shade.
On Sunday evening, the office attempted to turn the page. The HOT stamp lifted cleanly from the week and landed on the next one, leaving the staff with a fresh calendar in which every day was already occupied and one lonely square labeled “maybe later” trapped underneath.
